About This Point of Interest

Goat Island & Terrapin Point

Goat Island’s location right in the middle of Niagara Falls has allowed tourists to experience famous Horseshoe Falls from a unique point of view. Located on the US side of Niagara Falls, Goat Island no longer has any residents, not even goats! It is a popular area for travellers to explore and has several excellent viewing points including Terrapin Point. The point is a major observation area to overlook the falls and lower Niagara Gorge on the US side. Formerly Terrapin Rocks, dirt and fill from dredging of the upper Niagara River in the 1950s was spread over the area increasing its size and creating Terrapin Point. Goat Island and Terrapin Point are free to visit.
