About This Point of Interest

Niagara Falls

Spanning the border between USA and Canada, Niagara Falls are composed of the Horseshoe, American, Bridal Veil Falls and the two islands, Goat and Luna islands, in between the falls.

Feeding from both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls holds the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America with over six million cubic feet if water falling every minute. All this flowing water allowed inventors like Nikola Tesla develop the first hydroelectric power plants in the late 1800s.

From the water’s edge, visitors can hear the roar of the water and feel the mists of the falls while learning the history of the area from early peoples who lived in the area to the daredevils who try to conquer the falls by barrel and tightrope.
