Niagara Gorge,
Whirlpool & Rapids

The Niagara Whirlpool is located in the Niagara Gorge, downstream from mighty Niagara Falls. With an average depth of 35 feet (10.7 meters), the whirlpool is a natural phenonemon and it turns counterclockwise. There are two parks bordering the Niagara Gorge where vistors can view the rapids and whirlpool; the Whirlpool State Park (on the US side) and Niagara Glen Nature Reserve (on Canadian side). For those visitors who are the the Canadian side and are feeling a little adventurous, they can take a ride on the Whirlpool Aero Car that is suspended between two Canadian points that crosses the Niagara Whirlpool.
